its a misconception that these particular ice cream vans are all based on cut down Thames vans...quite a lot that survive in preservation are Anglia based...the vehicle in pic could either be Ford Thames or a Ford Anglia.

The ice cream van in the movie closely matches the Walls ice cream van here (third picture down).

Points confirming van-based....

Passenger door is the van version with the lower edge rising towards the rear. Saloon doors are parallel with the ground.

The van-style rear lights, no rear fins as the saloon.

I suggest it is probably based on the van version.

65+ Anglia, not previous Thames because of Ford badge on front wing.

"Because of the design of the back, the seller had to stand outside the van and lean in through the large window to get into the fridges. Therefore the conversion was based on a left hand drive van to avoid the seller getting run over by passing traffic when alighting from the van. ... Walls bought 363 of these conversions, but it is unknown how many were built for privateer companies.". LHD means [308E]. Not sure what the red wheels mean (in photo above and on the promo pic in link) - presumably part of Walls livery, but modern photos (full size and the Oxford scale models a few years back) only seem to have normal cream wheels.
