1948-55 Rolls royce Silver Dawn Standard Steel Saloon. As far as I can see it's the small boot car i.e. early car with most surely the small bore (4 1/4 litre) 6 cylinder engine.

Ther is a good side view on the Lagonda Rapide pic. It is definitely a small boot car.

Rolls Royce Silver Dawn Standard Saloon 1952. Though Silver Dawns were available from late 1949, they were export only until 1952. The small boot, big bore (4566cc) version shown here was replaced by the big boot version in 1952.

All the XXx combinations were London issues in 1959, so much newer than car (and unusual reversal of normal situation for cherished plates).
