Early 70's Bedford CF with Hanlon (Ireland) bodywork. The blue stripe and position of the crest reminds me of a picture I saw of an identical looking vehicle (AFW 400K) in Chris Battens book, NHS AMBULANCES The First 25 Years 1948-1973, serving with the Lindsey County Council Ambulance Service which was located in the North of Lincolnshire. As these scenes are taken from a documentary, could this be footage of the Flixborough Chemical Plant Disaster on 1st June 1974? If so this vehicle would of by then, be serving in the Humberside Ambulance Service formed on the 1st April 1974. -- Last edit: 2008-12-28 02:56:14 |
