I have checked out a source, the book "The original Citroën DS" by John Reynolds. He states that in some years only 45% of all RSA DS's where assembled locally. Maybe that is too little to obtain the title locally produced. Also the differences where minor on the local assembled cars. So perhaps we should keep the origin to France.... |

This is indeed a ZA built car, hence the new type doorhandles and a white roof. On French-built cars the roof was the same colour as the body when the new doors were introduced (1972 - on). Reynolds' book is not very accurate when it comes to SA production. |
