Apparently this is a pre-release '98 model.

According to what is said in this video: https://youtu.be/vrXp5VIfh0s?t=94 (in French)
It would be a 600 rather than a 500
The 500 was the production model that they made after.

Quote 1996 Cagiva 500 Canyon 'Dinosaur Wrangler' Prototype
Chassis no. 5G1001148
• Believed to be one of a small number of motorcycles loaned by Cagiva/MV Agusta for use during filming
• Showing only 86 kilometres on the odometer
• Featuring numerous screen-consistent details and production-specific fittings

This 1996 Cagiva 500 Canyon Prototype, nicknamed the "Dinosaur Wrangler", is believed to be one of a handful of examples supplied by Cagiva/MV Agusta for the production of The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). Based on the firm's dual-sport platform, the motorcycle is finished in production-accurate matte green and equipped with specific expedition-style features including protective bars, knobbly tyres, and auxiliary mounting points consistent with the on-screen InGen hunting team motorcycles.
Further distinctive features — such as Cagiva Canyon graphics, the absence of a front mudguard and turn signals, and exceptionally low mileage showing on the odometer — support the belief that this example was among the units prepared for filming under Steven Spielberg's direction.
Acquired by Movie Cars Central in Italy from a private collector, the motorcycle is offered on a bill of sale and will require recommissioning prior be ridden.
