I guess I should aim this question at Sunbar :)

I'd just like to confirm that this (matchbox) Leyland articulated tanker (from 1980) is the same Model as the above 'Constructor'?
Thanks again (No more questions today!)
Cheers Steve

I guess so.

The Leyland Constructor and similar trucks used the T45 cab produced from 1979 onwards so the date is correct. However the Matchbox model could have been made closer in looks probably. :/

Thanks again Sunbar!
Alot of Matchbox/Hot wheels/Siku/Majorette etc.. diecast toy vehicles are NOT very acurate in their details ...still they were made as Toys for kids to play with and not especially for Diecast Model collectors, as many new manufacturers are today ;)
The Early 50's & 60's Lesney cars did have good detail for their time, but I guess when Mattel hit the scene with the 'Hot' wheels, Dragsters, Custom cars and Spectraflame paintwork, it made Matchbox cars look boring by comparison. (I was hooked on the Hot wheels adverts on tv of the time, as a 6 year old these looked amazing! and I had to have them!
My Mum still has an old reel to reel tape recording of me at that time asking for a Hot wheels track for christmas! Also looking through some old photo's last weekend, I came across myself again at Christmas from this same era, one photo of me with Captain Scarlet's SPV and another (slightly later) with the UFO 'Shado' Tank! (As I guess you know, i'm still deeply immersed in the world of collecting Diecast vehicles)

Why is this our only 4-headlight T45 Constructor?? Was there a facelift??

Not only headlights, its a wider cab (the T45 cab was a modular design accross the medium to heavy duty range - incl. Scammells?).

This is a 8x4 perhaps the 6x4 only used the narrower cab? It needs looking at in conjunction with the others we have so far.
