 Nice find, Merci Bebert! It is a 1977 - 1979 GS Break. And I think it is a GS Club Break, due to the second rearview mirror. I don't think however the '1220' was still used in the type indication in 1977, so it might be called GS Club Break instead of GS 1220 Club Break. But I can check this tonight. I have checked out the type indication, and although it is hard to find something. Because not all sources are alike, I think the addition "1220" or "1015" was only used in the modelyears (AM) 1973 and 1974. Because at the end of 1972 the 1220cc engine was introduced. Citroën wanted to show that it had a bigger engine, therefor the type indication was adjusted. Later on (AM1975) it was dropped again, I guess it was not an issue anymore then. Although I would not be surpriced if some cars from after 1975 would have the "1220" or "1015" type indication too. Because they we're not always very consistent when applying changes and because those type indications may cary from country to country. Also the GS was manufactured at many different plants, so who knows, one might still use the old indications. BTW The grille tells us also it is a Club, the Pallas and the CLub are the only ones with the chrome on it. I've no pictures either about "badge 1220" on 1977 models ... so you may be right |
