yes its a chrome tube grill, could be either one, GMC or Chevrolet, no way to know without additional pics of the front cowl/fender area. |

I'll say this, it's anywhere between 1981 and 1986. |

'cause they have two-decked headlights in the production period quoted |

that truck is a 1985 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado!!!! i dont wanna read anymore of this "oh well i think its this" because i know what it is and it is what it is. a little info, 81-82 had the marker lights in the bumper. 83 moved them to eith the grill like this truck or below the headlights which means the truck had single headlights. they were all idenitical from 83 to 87 BUT 85 has a very interesting distinguishing feature. NOTE this truck is a step side and NOTE the tailgate, brakelights AND the shape of the hood, and the side marker lights. though most of you will argue with me i know i'm right because i personally own an 85 chevy. -- Last edit: 2007-02-15 03:09:35 |

I know. It is used in a chicken game, a chase and two other scenes. I'm confidant in 4 stars. |

really? does it look almost as good as this one? |

The scene on the bridge was awesome! |

What's the distinguishing feature of the 85? We can all see it's a step side bed so what do the tail lights and tailgate have to do with it? The side marker is the same from 81-87 so how is it an 85 again? |

I have no idea. However, it is at the very least a 1983 model as 1981-1982 models had lights on the front bumper also, and this one clearly has them behind the grille. -- Last edit: 2010-09-13 07:56:30 |

Just watched TCM2 for the 20th time in 20 years or so, and after viewing several front ends, grills, custom grills, headlight bezels, mirrors and bumpers, searching pics on the internet and also knowing production release date of TCM2 was in August 1986 which I assumed production started way earlier I doubt they used a brand new 1985 Chevy, but a 1983 is what I'm calling it. I'm building that truck right now, same year, same color. I'm installing close to what I see in pics. It will have a 454 in it and I'm going to have some fun tearing the tires off it. I knew I should of kept that awooga horn. |

It could be a custom amalgam of different year parts. The front bumper is definitely from 1983 or later, but the headlight bezels are definitely older than a 1985 model. They have the "rib" between the upper and lower headlamps. 1985 went to a smooth headlamp bezel. Additionally, those headlight trim bezels almost look like the 1981-1982 parts that were brighter silver around the lights themselves. Many of the 1983-1984 trucks had darker argent paint around them, as well as a color keyed trim piece (I think the GMCs were all gray though). This truck does have the newer turn signals behind the grille though. Perhaps this truck is a GMC. Here is an 84 with the bezels the truck in the movie seems to have. Chevy logos are visible on the rear roof pillars, most noticeable in the nighttime scene where it's parked at the radio station and the DJ's producer is looking at it. |
