Curious... ![]() Do you know if that was this a official Opel version or Swedish conversion? That extended windshield looks completely unnecessary. |

Looks like the usual converted Disabled/wheelchair carrying vehicle to me.! |

That at least would make sense for that windshield. |

Or something is wrong with the ratio... ![]() |

These were converted in Sweden for the postal services, I don´t remember who made the conversion but I´ve asked a friend who´s working at "Posten". There were also C-Kadetts converted in a similar way, but I think they used the standard windshield. Before the Opels "Posten" used DAF 44 based vehichles for many years, they were designed for the postal services but some were sold to civil purposes. The official name was KVD 440, but they were always called Tjorven a name that became more or less official too. Here´s one of them: ![]() |

Karosseriefabrik Voll of Würzburg/ Germany built these vehicles for Swedish post. See the 1st picture of their brochure.![]() By the way: Voll made similar bodies on the Kadett E Caravan chassis. -- Last edit: 2020-01-01 15:57:56 |

That specific Opel was a rusty one. We were three guys who fixed with in two nights. The floor in it was gone, so we took a hood from a Volvo 440 and cut a piece from it which we welded temporarily - just to have somewhere to have the feets while driving! The car had been parked under a tree for a couple of years, so we had to polish it a lot. We also repainted it partly with markercolor which showed up to have almost the same color as the origin color on the car. At last, the brake lines were hanged up in ropes. With this fantastic car, we drove in to Stockholm city and back again afterwards. Thereafter, I tried to give it to the Post museum (for free) but they told me they already had one. So instead, the car was dismantled... ![]() As found, and before we fixed it. ![]() After shooting in Stockholm city. |

^^ really neat! As suspected LZT924 has moved. Shame oxidation took the better part of this interesting specimen. Shame to see, any vehicle, dismantled. ![]() |
