US laws at the time didn't allow a speedometer reading higher than 85 MPH because it would encourage speeding and waste gas. |

By only looking at the front bonnet and at the pseudo grids above the yellow headlights, I'm sure it's a 308 GTS with a pseudo 328 front bumper. By the way, the 328 GTS only appeared in 1986. -- Last edit: 2006-09-30 10:37:12 |

It´s 308 GTS customised by famous Barris Kustom industries... |

there is a pic floating around the web of this car, it was actually owned by barris (im assuming here, but it had BARRIS plates on it) |

replica? i highly doubt the dagger dx was a replica 308 since it is owned by barris. i'm sure it's a real ferrari 308. |

The car is definitely not a replica. It's a real 308GTS that was George Barris' personal car, customized (ruined?) by him. I know the gentleman that owns it today and it's actually a very tidy and well-kept car. |

Confirmed as a 78 GTS customised by Barris in 1981. Fortunately he did not do too much damage. Pop-up headlights removed, with new lights now behind the gold-plated grille; most other brightwork was gold-plated as well. Interior was apparently a total mess with multicoloured upholstery, burr walnut dash and trim, plus digital instrumentation, lots of LED fairy lights, a Sony TV and a huge telephone. |

Some more pictures here: https://barnfinds.com/george-barris-stable-1978-ferrari-308-gts/ The interior is eye-popping, to say the least. |

The interior shots are from a standard 308. Unless Barris hadn't customized the interior yet? |

The final thumbnail shows the seats were already modified, so I'm guessing the other interior shots were second unit shots using a different car. Maybe even shots reused from a different show. |

Nice Hungarian flags on the sides! Italian policy about the flag say that the green stripe is on the pole side, hence if it's horizontal, the green is windward (in general, on the left when drawn), while in case it's hung vertically the green must be on the upper side. In case red is above, it's an Hungarian flag. |
