The man who used to live down my road had a Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, then a Bentley Turbo R after that. But they looked pretty out of place in a front of a modest-sized house in the middle of a redbrick housing estate. What happens in this episode? Needless to say she couldn't afford to buy it (if that £115K price is for the car), no one goes from a Rover 200 to a Rolls unless they've just won the lottery. Although today you could easily pick up an 80s Silver Spirit for under 20 grand. -- Last edit: 2011-10-09 19:47:26 |

Hyacinth is taken over by a Jaguar of a 'friend' of hers. She wants a bigger car than her and they go to a Rollce-Royce-dealer. They make a testdrive in a Rolls. When they are in the car, the seller has to answer a telephone-call. Hyacinth pushes Richard to drive a little bit forward. But then they are in a one-way-street and they have to drive because of a traffic-jam behind them. Hyacinth pushes more and Richard is forced to drive into the country. They go to a big castle to show off. (Alarm goes off: 'Very clever of you Richard, now even more people see our car!!') As they leave there the police pulls them over in front of all the people. Very funny episode. I hope my English is good enough... -- Last edit: 2006-08-22 16:03:59 |

Registration number is now on a 2006 Volvo V70. Wonder if that means this car doesn't exist anymore. |

Possibly, but it might still exist with another number - maybe the owner was a victim of the credit crunch and had to downsize. |

This episode's on Youtube and I watched the scenes with the Rolls, this looks like the 1989-93 Silver Spirit II which had a new steering wheel and redesigned dashboard, also has a name badge on the boot lid which I don't think the Silver Spirit I had. |
