With this grille it has to be a Daimler Double Six, I would say. |

Series II is my guess. 1974-1978 series II has the bonnet chrome centre-strip, 1979-1988 series III looks not to have it but needs to be confirmed, Its not not the XJ40 based model. |

Actually it is the Daimler Sovereign version of a Jaguar XJ Series 1. Series 1 cars have the big grille, the Jaguar version has a small bordered grille and the Daimler Version has the thick bordered, fluted grille. Beside the badges on the boot lid there is no way to tell if it is a six or twelve cylinder version of the car. Series 1 Daimlers were built from 1968-1973. |
