It was a 1977 Kenworth actually it's on the BJ and the Bear Fan club and there was a chat some where with Greg Evigan and George Scak's yard they all say it was a 1977

Edit: No need to quote the pictures (and no need to post several messages in a row btw.) -Ax-

The truck primary used for this episode was a 1974 Kenworth K-123 with a NTC-400HP Cummins Engine and a 10 Speed Transmission

After filming had completed Glenn Larson had the truck stored away at Hollywood Universal Studios and when they had went back to get the truck to film the actual show the truck was gone and ever since 1979 the truck to this day still hasn't surfaced, So, What had ended up happening to the truck or where it had went after it had left Universal Studios no one actually know's

This truck also had a couple of stunt doubles one of them was a 1976 Kenworth K-123 with also an NTC-400HP Cummins Engine with another 10 Speed Transmission that was a minor stunt truck when the truck was red & white

When the truck was painted Canary Yellow the truck had ended up becoming the primary to be used during filming and after filming was completed the truck was sent to JT Jenkins where the truck was sold to an individual and had started working for a living hauling real loads in 1979

Despite knowing that the truck had went back to work for a living the truck actually hasn't surfaced since 1980

The last truck was a 1973 Kenworth K-123 that was previously a Ryder Truck that had became a stunt truck for filming after the truck was painted Canary Yellow

After filming was completed the truck had so much extensive damage to it, But, It had ended up being bought by Shelby Elliott out of Sikeston, MO and a couple of years later in 1980 Shelby Elliott had ended up parting out and scrapping the truck after going over the damage on the truck and made the decision from there that the truck was beyond repairable

DIEHARD wrote pics of the 1978 Kenworth

Depending on what truck is being talked about that was used to film the pilot episode the year completely changes...

The primary truck was a 1974 Kenworth K-123 and it's stunt truck was a 1976 Kenworth K-123

After it was written in the script for the truck to be painted canary yellow the 1976 Kenworth K-123 stunt truck had become the beauty and glamorous truck and it's stunt truck would of ended up becoming a 1973 Kenworth K-123

The beauty and glamorous 1974 Kenworth K-123 truck had always remained red & white with black & gold pinstripes even after the pilot episode was finished being filmed...Despite this truck being used in the pilot episode of B.J. and the Bear and remaining in the red & white with black & gold pinstripes B.J. and the Bear colors after it had left Hollywood Universal Studios it hasn't been seen since it had disappeared and left Hollywood Universal Studios in 1977 when it was sold to an individual when it was sent back hauling real loads for a living
