I'll break the comments down explaining each and every truck used through out the whole entire series seeing that the picture's don't want to show again in last post and than if anyone wants the information on the trucks used through out the whole entire series just read my response from October 15, 2023 If this still doesn't work again i'll delete this comment and not even bother First up is the beauty and glamorous 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne from both Season One and Season Two that is Vin Number #266661 and is now owned by Kraig Cummins ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Behind the scene's picture's and truck show's with this 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Vin Number #266661 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Obviously this is the truck in the above main picture listing this truck on the site -- Last edit: 2023-10-20 21:16:49 |

The 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne stunt truck from Season One and also was vaguely seen in both Season Two and Season Three This truck did survive the whole entire series, But, It's current location is currently unknown This truck had a V892 Detroit Engine with a 15 Speed Transmission and had the turn signals mounted underneath the mirrors instead of on the side of the cab like all of the other trucks used in the series ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Behind the scene's picture's of this truck Note : That this truck does have a red pillar in between the wind shields like the majority of all of the other trucks used through out the whole entire series ![]() ![]() The little peep window on the passenger side door of the truck that had the duck tape painted red with the little peep window on the passenger side door of the truck being covered The trailer hitch in Season One ![]() The reappearing trailer hitch in Season Three Out running the train in Season Three I forgot to also mention in my previous other post that there is one more episode in Season Three that this truck shows up in near the beginning of the episode when the character "Manny" was getting beaten up by a bunch of bad guy's near the beginning of the episode and BJ was the one to go to his rescue -- Last edit: 2023-10-17 04:17:11 |

This is the Season Two 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne stunt truck This was the truck that was destroyed while pulling off a stunt in the episode Siege and also keep in mind that this was the only truck used through out the whole entire series that had a white pillar in between the two wind shields instead of a red pillar like the rest of the other trucks used through out the whole entire series and also the little peep window on the passenger side door of this truck was actually visible unlike the other Season One stunt truck and also keep in mind that the turn signals are mounted on the side of the cab on this truck like what is seen on the two twin sister third season 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne's and the beauty and glamorous 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that was seen in both Season One and Season Two At times through out the series this truck also had chrome quarter fenders and chrome sleeper door vents that had also pulled an odd ball dry van fruehauf trailer with a sliding axle from time to time through out the second season of the show This truck also had a V892 Detroit Engine with some type of automatic transmission The frame of this truck was the donor frame for the Highway Men tv series truck which is currently located in Texas last I knew ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() From the episode Siege where it gets destroyed by the stunt it had pulled off in that episode Note : Keep in mind that the white pillar in between the two wind shields is clearly visible the whole time in the scene it had pulled off the stunt that had destroyed it Here are some behind the scene's picture's with this truck -- Last edit: 2023-10-20 21:12:03 |

The different in the paint scheme of the trucks used in Season One and Season Two versus Season Three that I had talked about in my post made on October 15, 2023 If you want to know how to tell the paint schemes apart from each other just look at that post The beauty and glamorous 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne truck being Vin Number #266661 that Kraig Cummins now owns today in the opening credits of the show The two sister third season 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne trucks that John Amstutz and Paul Sagehorn now own today behind the scene's of the third season of the show -- Last edit: 2023-10-17 04:30:37 |

Now, For the two identical twin 1972 Brown Reefer Trailers used through out the whole entire series there was also minor differences in between them as well, Too John Amstutz's Trailer had the white tail on the sides of the trailer and had a little black box on the corner of the driver's side of the trailer of what was probably more a light box that a driver could see while going down the road so that way there if the reefer were to ever have problems while going down the road Paul Sagehorn's Trailer didn't have the white tail on the sides of the trailer and didn't have a little black box on the corner of the driver's side of the trailer of what was probably more a light box that a driver could see while going down the road so that way there if the reefer were to ever have problems while going down the road Around the tail lights on both trailers was also different as well, Too In the left column below is the trailer that Paul Sagehorn now owns and in the left column below is the trailer that John Amstutz now owns Here's also another picture also showing the mudflaps of the trailer that John Amstutz now owns today The odd ball Fruehauf dry van trailer with the sliding axle seen in both Season Two and Season Three from time to time was an entirely different trailer and was a newer trailer than these two identical twin 1972 Brown Reefer Trailers that were used through out the whole entire series |

Just so everyone knows both 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes are Vin #J-288161 and Vin #J-288162 both built at the Chillicothe, Ohio Plant when brand new in July of 1980 These two trucks appear in the series at the very end of Season Two with the two episodes "Gasohol" and "The Run For The Money" first part episode and than were used to appear in the cross over episodes with Misadventures Of Sheriff Lobo series with the "Run For The Money" Episodes that were Part Two and Part Three The "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne also appears in the Run For The Money Three Part Episodes while "Gasohol" only strictly uses both 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes Starting with the two part episodes "The Fast And Furious" episodes for Season Three is right where these two trucks started to be regularly used for Season Three Vin #K-266661 was built at the Kansas City, Missouri Plant when brand new in June of 1978 It originally left the Kansas City, MO Kenworth Factory Truck Plant with a solid white cab and a red chassis and than was delivered to JT Jenkins when brand new which was a local Kenworth Dealership near Hollywood Universal Studios at the time B.J. and the Bear was being filmed From there the truck was bought by Universal Studios brand new to be an equipment mover and than once the 1974 Kenworth K-123 disappeared between the time the pilot episode was filmed and when it was time to film the very first episode this truck was chosen to be B.J. McKay's in B.J. and the Bear The red on the cab of this truck was painted at Universal Studio Truck Lots and than the truck was sent back to the Chillicothe, Ohio Kenworth Truck Plant where the black and gold stripes were painted onto the cab of the truck Season One also bought another stunt truck that I previously spoke about that was another 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that was also delivered to JT Jenkins when brand new on this truck had a V892 400HP Detroit Engine instead of a NTC-400HP Cummins Engine I am unsure which Kenworth Factory Truck Plant that this truck was built at, But, Going off of the Season One Episode "Shine On" and looking at the door jambs near the end of that episode this truck also left the Kenworth Factory Truck Plant it was built at with a solid white cab although I am unsure if the chassis on the truck was already red when it had left the Kenworth Factory Truck Plant it was built at like the other 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that appears in the series did This truck was also probably more than likely also built in June of 1978 and was a newer vin number than the other 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that appears in the series as the two 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes were not one consecutive vin number apart from each other like the two Season Three 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes are After carefully watching Season One Episodes even though the Season One Stunt Truck wasn't the very first Aerodyne and wasn't the only truck to appear in Season One Episodes it is the truck that appears in the most Season One Episodes The stunt truck from Season One only appears in earlier Season Two episodes like "18 Wheels Of Rip Off", "B.J. and the Whitch" the two part "B.J. And The Seven Lady Truckers" Episodes, "Cain's Son In Law", "Friendly Double Cross", "Mary Ellen", "Pogo Lil" and "Through The Past, Darkly" In the two Season Two Episodes "Cain's Son In Law" for sure and possibly "Mary Ellen" both stunt trucks that appear in the series were possibly both used in those two episodes and I only say possibly because I am not sure if the Season Two Episode "Mary Ellen" only strictly used the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series or if the Season Two Episode "Mary Ellen" used both stunt trucks that appear in the series in that episode The Season Two Episode "18 Wheels Of Rip Off" used the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series as the "beauty" and "glamorous" truck in that episode while the other more "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne went undercover in that episode as Black Aerodyne with washable black paint The Season Two Episode "Pogo Lil" more so used both 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes in that episode, But, The Season Two 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series also appears in the beginning of that episode when the underneath of the truck is shown with the front tires hanging off of the side of a cliff while the truck showing Greg Evigan (The actor that is B.J. McKay in the series) inside of it in that same scene was the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series While the more "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne was used in the actual truck race in the episode "Pogo Lil" the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series was seen in the truck race pit with the cab titled forward and the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series was also seen in that same episode when B.J. McKay crushes the loan officer's car between his truck and Pogo Lil's Truck earlier in the episode The other earlier Season Two episodes I mention used the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series only strictly use that truck in those episodes The 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series was mostly on tour attending truck shows advertising for the show when Season Two was being filmed which is why it wasn't seen for a long period of time in the series during Season Two After the other stunt truck was destroyed while filming the later Season Two Episode "Siege" when it was driven through a biker bar Season Three needed a stunt truck to be vaguely used for the bigger stunts during Season Three which is why it appears in Season Three Episodes as a stunt truck and it was the only truck strictly used for the two part Season Three "B.J. And The Seven Lady Truckers" Episodes Although this truck did survive the series it is not known what happened to this truck today or it's current location The only thing that the Season Two 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck had to do with Season Three is when it was driven through a metal warehouse in the Season Three Episode "Detective Finger, I Presume" The more "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne that appears in the series although was the first Aerodyne and does appear in Season One Episodes appeared the most in Season Two Episodes The "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne was raffled off between Season Two and Season Three on May 26, 1980 and ended up being owned and ran by a gentleman by the name of Kari Pakkala for 24 long years until Kari sold the truck to Lee Dixon somewhere out of Arkansas in the beginning of very early 2004 and than Lee Dixon blew the motor in the truck in the beginning of very early 2006 and sold the truck to Scott Killino somewhere out of Pennsylvania and than sometime in the very beginning of March back in 2012 the truck was sold to Kraig Cummins which is the overseas owner from Australia that also owns the 1994 Peterbilt 379 that Patrick Swayze drove in the 1998 Black Dog Film Paul Sagehorn's and John Amstutz's trucks both ended up leaving Hollywood in 1982 a year after the show was canceled Not much is known on the history of John Amstutz's Season Three B.J. and the Bear Truck, But, It is known that it was first owned by a flatbed company that had a chrome headache rack behind the sleeper mounted behind the exhaust of the truck when it had left Hollywood although not for very long and than it ended up being owned by Chaparral Transport Company LLC. Out of Hidalgo, TX and than Brisk Transportation LLC. Out of Memphis, TN and than years later down the line it was owned by Chris Hart out of Cottondale, FL which is who John Amstutz bought the truck off of back in 2020 and John Amstutz is out of Wind Gap, PA Paul Sagehorn's Truck was first owned by an owner operator who used the truck to lease onto a meat factory to haul meat with somewhere out of Missouri although not for very long and than the truck was sold to John Linkhart out of Long Lake, MO and than from there the truck was sold to Cofer Brothers Lumber Inc. Out of Tucker, GA and than in 1986 that is when James Duncan out of Douglasville, GA bought the truck who ended up running the truck for three years until 1989 when the motor ended up blowing up on him for the third time while owning the truck with only 442,000 Miles on the truck and than the truck was parked and sat in the same spot until Paul Sagehorn out of Sparta, WI bought the truck back in 2007 The two 1972 Brown Reefer Trailers that both John Amstutz and Paul Sagehorn own with their Season Three Trucks is that Paul Sagehorn owns Trailer Vin Number #720698 in which first appears in the episode "Shine On" and John Amstutz owns Trailer Vin Number #720844 in which first appears in the episode "Odyssey Of The Shady Truth" They're both 40 FT Trailers and appear in all three seasons of B.J. And The Bear and were still owned by Universal Studios out of California back in 2003 and both trailers were verified to be in California as early as 1977 even before the premiere of B.J. and the Bear A year after B.J. and the Bear was canceled in 1982 both trailers had the reefer units removed, Had black storage boxes installed underneath the trailers and had a lift gate installed behind the doors of both trailers The biggest way to tell these two trailers apart from each other is by looking at the rear of the trailer on the side near the taillights as John Amstutz's Trailer had the white tips while Paul Sagehorn's Trailer did not and also John Amstutz's Trailer had a little black signal light junction box indicator on the drivers side corner of the trailer while Paul Sagehorn's Trailer did not The only other trailer that appears in the series was during Season Two and it was a 45 FT Fruehauf Dry Van Trailer that was mostly pulled by the Season Two 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series With the exception of the episode "Odyssey Of The Shady Truth" the trucks did not switch trailers much behind the scenes or between episodes as the more "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne pulled the 1972 Brown Reefer Trailer that John Amstutz owns today during Season One and the other 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series pulled the 1972 Brown Reefer Trailer that Paul Sagehorn owns today during Season One In the first season episode "Odyssey Of The Shady Truth" both 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes pulled the 1972 Brown Reefer Trailer that John Amstutz owns today During Season Two the "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne pulled an equal amount of the two 1972 Brown Reefer Trailers that both John Amstutz and Paul Sagehorn own today while the Season Two 1979 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series more so pulled the 45 FT Fruehauf Dry Van Trailer during Season Two During Season Three the two 1972 Brown Reefer Trailers were used accordingly in a rotation between both 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes and the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series The 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series was said to end up somewhere in Maine after it had left Hollywood in 1982 although both 1980 Kenworth K-100C Aerodynes were gotten rid of in 1982 before the 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne Stunt Truck that appears in the series was gotten rid of -- Last edit: 2025-09-26 09:39:43 |

Just for clarification John Amstutz out of Wind Gap, PA owns Vin Number #J-288161 and Paul Sagehorn out of Sparta, WI owns Vin Number #J-288162 These two trucks were nearly identical during filming and can only be told apart from each other while looking at the interior The truck that John Amstutz owns today has a Satin Purple Handle along the side of the top bed in the bunk while the truck that Paul Sagehorn owns today has a Satin Black Handle along the side of the top bed in the bunk Another way to tell these two trucks apart from each other by looking at the interior is by looking at the CB Radio Mic while Paul Sagehorn's Truck has a more normal smaller rounder CB Radio Mic the truck that John Amstutz owns today had a more longer rectangular shape CB Radio Mic with rounded edges Both of these two trucks are verified to have appeared in the Season Three two part "Fast And Furious" Episodes while the truck that John Amstutz owns today is verified to have appeared in the Season Three Episodes "A Bear In The Hand", "Seven Lady Captives" along with a stunt truck and "S.T.U.N.T." while the truck that Paul Sagehorn owns today is verified to have appeared in the Season Three Episodes "Detective Finger, I Presume?" along with a stunt truck, "Down And Dirty" and "Intercepted Pass" It is also worth mentioning that the more "beauty" and "glamorous" 1978 Kenworth K-100C Aerodyne appears in the Season Two Episode "Cain's Cruiser" |
