??? Grille does not correspond to any of the 1951 or 1952 Packard series.but to the 1953 Clipper. The rear fender line is also more angular than on the 1951-1952 cars.I strongly suspect this to be a twenty sixth series Clipper DeLuxe from 1953 . Even if the movie is dated 1952 it is still possible that this is a 1953 model year car introduced after the Paris salon of october 52. |

The grille of the Packard 200 of 1951 and 1952 has an oval shape divided by a full lenght vertical bar as shown on the pictures. The grille on the movie car does not show the oval shape and has only a small vertical bar between the upper and the middle grille bar |

INCOMPREHENSIBLE |

Most interesting. Grille at first glance does indeed appear to be of the '53 to '54 Clipper type. However, the side trim is definitely pre-Clipper and I think with the sharp angle and the distortion through the windshield of the other car, that this must be a '51 to '52 variety 200 or 200 Deluxe. (Even seems like I might be able to see the PACKARD letters on the hood front.) Were any different varieties of Packards built for non-USA markets? |
