according to https://www.foxstang.com/1987-fox-body-mustang-facts-color-codes/ yellow with black molding would limit it to 1988-1989

Possibly a 1987 Mustang. In early-1987 I bought a new fastback like that one... except mine had the optional sunroof. Ford tagged that color with an "6H" code and called it JONQUIL during introduction --- later referring to it as MEDIUM YELLOW. I kept that car for 11 years and received occasional comments about its color. Although somewhat rare, the "6H" color was only available with the LX models... not initially available on the GT. I saw it in hatchback, notchback, and convertible styles... with either the four or eight cylinder engines.
The "6H" code only lasted one year and a similar pale YELLOW was reformulated as a "66" color-code. In 1988 and thereafter, that "66" color-code was sometimes called TROPICAL YELLOW and sometimes MIMOSA. The new "66" color ALMOST matched the "6H" color but would fail a side-by-side comparison. (In 1989 the "66" color became available on the GT model, but that's not relevant for this LX model)
