The motor grader on the left is just a caterpillar 12. Vintage 50's. The filler cap on backside of cab and no hydraulics shows its age. The dozer i would guess a D7 Or D8 of the same age, has cables instead of hydraulics. |

I'm always amazed when they can find specialized period vehicles like this. I can see someone collecting a commercial vehicle like a hearse, but how many people really think to collect vintage construction equipment? |

Maybe rented them directly from Caterpillar's museum. |

Heavy duty equipment like this is designed to last decades. There is a (admittedly very) outside chance that this stuff was workable or even in use when the movie was filmed. |
