This car gets the most screen time (in you count interior shots) out of any vehicle in the film, since it used during most of the final 20 minutes of the film.

Is it customary for 9C1 Caprices to come with a civilian drivers side mirror?

I just examined this movie, and looked at the Caprice(s) in each scene. You can tell they cycle between 4 to 6 different Caprices in this movie due to interior color changes; lack of cage; rear bumper stinker; etc. The Caprice used in the final scene (where they're escorting John Doe) is only used in that scene for a total running time of 15 minutes 42 seconds.

If you look at Vilero's pictures (above) where he says it's the "same chevy," that is incorrect. Look at the bumper sticker in his first picture, and then look at the second picture where there is no bumper sticker. Completely different Caprices.

There's also a scene where Brad Pitt is getting Cliff Notes from a cop. Look at the interior: it's tan or some light color made with a polyester upholstery. Completely different car than all of the other Caprices that they drove since the other scenes had a Caprice with a dark interior. In another shot where the entire precinct is mobilizing, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are inside a car with a light interior (but leather interior). Again, a completely different Caprice.

And then we come to the car with a bumper sticker. Again, it's the only car with a bumper sticker and a dark interior.

I doubt this was a movie mistake. I think it just shows that these detectives are using any unmarked, departmental car they can get their hands on. So honestly, there should be several Chevy Caprices listed for this movie since Morgan Freeman & Brad Pitt change cars several times throughout the movie.
