It sports an early Italian'70s CD plate,but actually that Toyota Crown never was sold in Italy(at period of the series in Italy were imported only LC off-roads,some Corona 1500 and some Corolla 1200;bigger Toyotas were absent into 1971 Italian market sales) |

You are partially right. The plate looks to me absolutely fake. The French Consul in Turin used a very same car in a darker shade of blue in the late 70s. The car was not imported to Italy but Diplomats often used cars not ufficially inported. |
