By looking at this car one can tell that it is a 1965-1967 Panhard 24 CT, where the CT stands for CoupéTigre, meaning the short wheel-base version of the Panhard 24 (the other, Berline, featured a B instead of the C) with a tigre-engine (60 bhp as opposed to the non-tigre engine which developed 50 bhp). The exact model can easily be distinguished by looking at the wheels. The 1964 model year featured very beautiful drum brakes with cooling ribs, but these were changed for disc brakes in 1965 when the Berline models were introduced. However, out of the Berline series only the 24 BT featured disc breaks. The other two, the 24 B and 24 BA, had drum brakes. Anyway, it's also possible to rule out that this is a 24 C (50 bhp), since that model was produced in 1964 only and therefore would have had drum brakes. Since the movie itself was made in 1965 it's clear that this was a brand new car at the time, namely a 1965 Panhard 24 CT. -- Last edit: 2006-11-02 05:09:32 |
