This replaces Hank's Ford Ranger in Season 5.

Is this definetely an F-250 and not an F-150?

Yes, it’s a F-250 Super Duty. In one episode I wondered if they switched artists because the truck was shown
in better artistic detail. It actually looked like a proper Super Duty.

That happens in King of the Hill, sometimes vehicles appear better drawn with more detail than in other scenes.

F-250s of that era had different grilles than F-150s, didn't they?

Yes they did ... the 1999 model F-150 and Expedition were altogether a different class of vehicle.
As a result they looked completely different at that time.

Definitely an F-250. And yes, the truck has been drawn MUCH better in other episodes.

I've only been watching the DVDs up to Season 5 (in which this replaces Hank's Ford Ranger), I felt this was the best shot of it from the episodes I viewed. Season 6 and further seasons have yet to be released on DVD in the UK.

In some episodes, Hank's truck sort of looks like a Dodge Ram pickup, especially from the tail-lights.

In the episode where he bought it, it had a manual transmission. But in later episodes it had an automatic.

Main image: Hank washing out the bed so his dad could buy Hitler's canoe.

It makes sense in context!

Bestto label F-Series Super Duty. Nothing negates F-350 Super Duty. Both were optioned in SRW.

They replace the shift knob with the one from the old Ranger.

It also has an outline on the headliner like it might have a sunroof when Hank buys it, but there's no evidence of this in later episodes either.

Hank still drives this bad boy in the latest season.

It's still not listed as F-250 why? And I think XLT SuperCab sounds better than latter in vice versa way.

And that's not what the Ranger shift pattern looked like. Reverse was straight down from fifth, which is also marked as OD instead of 5. And it's very different from the F-250 shift pattern, which has reverse on the top left and a crawler gear straight down from it, so using a different shift knob is a bad idea.
