That's what somebody said me last time I added a 911 Carrera to the site, so I kept only "911" in the name |

All 911 are not Carrera. And this one is just a normal pre-'73 911 with the rear spoiler and decals of a Carrera RS, but not the front spoiler & the wheels. |

Maybe it is cheaper 4-cylinder 912, which they crashed? |

Really? Even for recent models? |

The front end is wrong for a Carrera. The wheels look like a pre ’66 car. Also look at the word Carrera on the side the C doesn’t fit on the door. Pre 1969 cars (O and A series) where a little shorter. My guess it is mid 60’s car probably a wreck dressed up for the film knowing they would crash it. |

Turbo, GT2, GT3, etc. aren't Carreras. Targas are Carreras correct? -- Last edit: 2008-03-29 04:09:07 |

No, not all Targa are Carrera. |

@jettalover: no, the "Targa" is the version with the plastic roof-panel you can open. And due the Targa-roof they have the big, rounded back window. The "Carrera" was originally a racing version with a tuned up engine and less interior. At first Porsche made 500 of them (to get racing homologation), after it was a success, they made 1000 Carrera more. Later on, also today, the "Carrera" is a better equipped version with a stronger engine (surely the price is much higher). So "Targa" is annother body-version, "Carrera" annother engine- and equipment-version. |

This may have been a mock-up VW Porsche as the wheels look similar to VW wheels and in this very shot the front end shook a little and even in this picture dosen't look like that its attached right. |

No, by the construction of the chassis, it's not possible to mock up a VW Porsche 914 into a 911. This kind of wheels with hupcaps was used for the last version of the 356 and the first one of the 911 and the 912, too. It's not identical with the VW-wheels, which the basis 914/4 had, too. |
