This is a background vehicle. Not used for anything. 1 star only. At no time was a BMW used as a role in As Good As It Gets. The car appears to be a `89-`94 525i, judging from the narrow kindey-grille and plain wheels. |

Actually this was used by a character, but only for one scene. |

Having seen the movie the car is a 1990 to 1992 525i. It is not a post '92 car by looking at the old style mirrors that mold into the door as opposed to the later style rectangular mirrors. 1989 model year had non airbag wheels. The car in the movie has wood trim and an airbag wheel, so it is safely a 1990 to 1992 525i. |

![]() ![]() I've included a shot of the steering wheel. This has leather seats and also what looks like a red coachline stripe (see thumbnail 1) but I don't know how Newman could tell this has wood trim. The scene is just too dark to see. Also another film appearance of that VKT670 New York plate. -- Last edit: 2016-04-05 22:14:34 |

525i wheels. Not sure what makes this 1990? 1989 was the first year, I'm not aware of any changes that occured in 1990. |
