If this had been in Germany, the bus could be an Auwärter Teamstar based on the Mercedes-Benz 9xx series. I don't know if they exported to Spain, but I think there are also some native Spanish companies producing buses on this basis - so the possibility to see an Auwärter bus here should be lower. |

Ernst Auwärter 'Clubstar' http://home.arcor.de/bustina/busbilder/ernstauwaerter/ea-clubstar.html |

Should we name Auwärter as make? ... I believe we could, as we do for all modern coach builders (Bova, Heuliez, Van Hool, etc...) |

I'd suggest Auwärter Clubstar - Mercedes Benz 9-series as complement name |

If you do that, you should rather choose [LN2], as you can see that this MB series is inside - but not exactly, which type it is. The company's name is 'Ernst Auwärter'. 'Auwärter' only is something different - that is a manufacturer of Trailers. It seems this was a whole family in the bus & trailer business, a little like American LaFrance and Ward LaFrance. ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-06-28 00:30:11 |

@sixcyl Even worse than at LaFrance, Jean-Marc! Many family members, everyone in the automotive business, and many companies. ![]() - Gottlob Auwärter: in the bus business, mostly large buses. Trade name: Neoplan. Neoplan today is in the NeoMAN company, part of the MAN group (trucks, ships, printing machines...) -> http://www.neoplan.de/en/en.jsp Konrad Auwärter, Gottlob's son and playing an important role in Neoplan's expansion, has a nice archive/database of old buses on his web site: -> http://www.konrad-auwaerter.de/ -> Omnibus-Datenbank - Ernst Auwärter: specialized in smaller buses. Some show rather well that a truck chassis was taken. Now part of Austrian Pucher group. -> http://www.auwaerter.de/english/start_en.htm - Paul Auwärter Fahrzeugwerk: trailers of all sizes, truck platforms. Large market share in Germany. -> http://www.auwaerter-fahrzeugwerk.de - Auwärter: manufacture trailers only, especially for the timber business: http://www.auwaerter.com Did I forget any of them? ![]() |
