1948-49 Series 75 (need to see the instrument panel to determine which of the two years) |

Cadillac used the same basic body shell for the large "Series 75" sedans and limousines for 1942, 1946, 1947, 1948 and 1949. There were only some minor trim differences that are quite obvious on the models of 1942, 1946 and 1947, but those of 1948 and 1949 can be confusing. |

thank's for these precision... Up to me these Cadillac are beautiful, much more than what was produced later... |

They ARE beautiful, and very spacious, and comfortable, and VERY reliable to operate - especially with 3-speed manual gear box. I had one of these from 1942. The body shells remained practically unchanged for almost 10 years (1940-1949). Only in 1950 did Cadillac do some major re-tooling to align the front and rear clips of the "Series 75" cars on the other models in the range. |

Here's how to tell the postwar 75s apart... 46: Extra horizontal grille bar 47: "candy stripes" between "V" and shield (front insignia) 48: "Rainbow" dash 49: Conventional dash. And there are other diffs. Currel |

Adding to currell's list, the '48/'49 had a trunk lid "V", replacing the 1947 winged crest. |
