The DS plays a central role in this film - Charles DeGaulle escapes from machne gun toting terrorists only because he is in a DS. He is convinced the amazing abilities of the DS saved his life. This part of the film is not fiction - actually happened August 1962 and is known in French history books as "L'Attentat Petit Clamart." |

Film was not immune to anachronism in background cars DIEHARD's second photo shows a 1966 Renault, a 1970 Fiat, and a 1968 Citroen - yet the film revolves around real historical events in late 1962 and the film aims to fix on that time period. |

LE film se situe en 1962, les DS sont des modéles 65/67. anacronisme du réalisateur américain. |

previous main pic:![]() I replaced it because Peter's comment refers to the DS used in the assassination attempt on de Gaulle - which is the one with four headlights (new main pic), not the one in the previous main pic. I have no idea if the new main pic matches the entered data. Be that as it may, when it first appears, it also has an extra antenna on the hood which comes and goes during the sequence: ![]() Its rear end after the assassination attempt: ![]() Additionally, the DS in the new main pic only appears intermittently in the pre-credits sequence (which is just over 5 minutes long), so I reduced the rating as ![]() Before the movie's climax de Gaulle disembarks from another in a brief scene: ![]() Rear end of the one in the previous main pic: ![]() |
