That doesn't look like a series III. it looks like it has no fins like series IV onward |

Reminds me of an Amphicar, only longer. |

Mmmmmm - gazing at some more of the new HD pictures in various entries, I think there were 2 Alpines involved - an S4 with SUNBEAM lettering around grille and an S5 without. The S4 seems to have lost its grille bar, but some S5 shots show one. And one of the Alpines seems to have more obviously red wheels than the other, although I might be imagining this... Definitely no tigers involved as neither Alpine has chrome side strip. |

Edited mozinor's comment to add HD thumbs on top of the other comments. -- Last edit: 2012-10-08 02:07:47 |

The plot thickens - the S4 has front wing badges (eg thumbs 1&2), but they've been removed from the S5 (thumbs 3&4). And there's a few different hubcaps on the various front wheels. The S5 gets frisky with the Porsche (thumb 7) and is probably the one which hits the telegraph pole (8&9), so maybe the S4 is still enjoying life - and being enjoyed - somewhere. |
