@Bux_48: this also looks pretty new for an 'AA' plate Moreover, I think this could be a pre-series |

It's a very early one indeed, not sure if still a pre-series, but could be possible, or rather one of first batches sent to dealers. Anyway Naples (which finished the old system quite late too, in November 1994) had a large "AA" batch which ran until late 1995 First alphanumeric batches were bigger than successive ones, so larger provinces had very big ones, then they started to give more batches but smaller ones, also to try keeping a sort of national order among them. All the tables were on targheitaliane site, but sadly now it's beyond a paywall, only the old site is partially visible ![]() |

Interesting informations. So there are some places who kept the old scheme even in late 1994? |

Yes, because the introduction date for new kind of plates wasn't the same in all provinces as they had to clear already printed previous ones the same happened for all other plate changes (1976, 1985 and 1999).Interestingly, pre-production Bravo/a tested by Quattroruote magazine in September 1995 (and registered in Turin in the summer) had plates starting with AH. PS: @AleX_DJ, you've got m@il ![]() |
