The late '74 models wore the federal bumper style also found on the 1975-76 280Z, but this thin bumper with the black rubber (no chrome) bumper guards was only on the early '74 models. Basically, the cars produced between August/September and December of 1973. Also, for what it's worth, the 240Z would say "DATSUN" in lower height white block lettering on the fender (roughly this long, but not as tall). The "260Z" and "280Z" wore the model on the fender badging rather than the make, and create a blur shaped more like this one.
