This is G. Depardieu's car in this movie. His character loves that car. He said it's a 528i, and it's written on it - visible sometimes. Was equiped with black leather seats, four headrests (they appear and disappear), power window, powered locks and some other optionals. Sadly this car was very damaged by some guys with bats, hits a wall, and others misfortunes... ![]() ![]() Depardieu's character said near the end, when this poor car was nearly destroyed: "What a grat car...it runs good!" |

Indeed it's 1977+ car. With 1978+ wheels. -- Last edit: 2016-04-09 11:21:00 |

Incorrect as far as model year concerned. Chrome mirror in window triangle were introduced for the '78 model year (=from Sep. '77 on) and kept until late '79 (August) until the intro of the 1980 model which got the ugly plastic mirrors then. This one appears to be an early 1979. And the car in the movie does not have leather seats but stock black cloth. B.t.w. The car that got smashed was another one: A 520 in same color (Arktisblau was introduced late 1976, not before) and trim but with minor details different (e.g. wheel size 5.5" along with 175/14 tires instead of the 6" with 195/70/14 that were stock on the 528i, missing chrome on the air outlet grille on the C-pillar). -- Last edit: 2013-08-06 16:51:40 |

I think Depardieu is a BMW man! He drove many Bimmers in various movies! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() At the pic below we can see 2 very similar BMWs - one already destroyed (and used by characters) and another one parked on ther left as ![]() I believe the background car is the one which played in earlier scenes (where BMW was still in "mint" codition). |
