Production for new models begins in August of the year, but the models that are produced are marketed for the year ahead so they are given the following year's title, but if you look on the identification plate on the inside of the door of the first models that come out in october or november of 2007, for instance, they will have a two digit month date- 08 and a two digit year date-07, but they will have the title of 2008. |

Can be a 1996 also. A8 came late 1994, but the S8 came early 1996.. Its a manuel shift car!!!  ... I LIKE!!! Had one myself.. a blue 1996 manuel S8. Loved it, but very expensive to drive. |
