Other than NA (a market where this model wasn't officially sold), I can only think of Italian market where some foreign cars did have mandatory side-markers many years ago, but I don't think they were ever this large. Perhaps the owner added to some "flair" to mimic US style cars? Or maybe some models did, unofficially, make it to NA where these side-markers were fitted in?
