Doesn't look like a real Evolution model, looks more like a normal 2.5-16 modified to look like an Evolution. How we can tell if this is an Evolution without knowing what base model that A$AP Rocky used for the modifications? Sure, there was this video, but I don't think they've ever mention this as the Evolution (I didn't watched that video by the way). Even on NFS Unbound, this and the stock variant were both normal 2.5-16 models, not Evolution or Evolution 2. Listening to the players who got that game, A$AP Rocky version can be proven to be a normal 2.5-16 by removing the A$AP Rocky preset in the car customization menu of the game. |

Certainly a collectible and expensive car to use as a base* for a Fast&Furious-type mod. You almost never know with all of these (Evo's, M3's, AMGs, Alpinas etc etc) but I on my part tend to call them if everything -or most of everything- on them seems correct. Unless there are some "red flag" stuff (for e.g. in fake Alpinas it's often the BMW model scripts left on the car or a wrong front spoiler). In this case, though there's the F&F mods it seems to have the correct wheel arches and side skirts for an Evo 2 but not so sure about the rear wing. Front spoiler seems about right but without the asphalt-kissing lower extension (maybe it can be removed for practical reasons?). Also rear bumper thrown away. With adjusted brightness/contrast, compare: *but I'm sure some owners would go ahead anyway ![]() |

IIRC it was based on a grey 2.3-16, i've followed the previous owner on instagram. |

My bad, it was a 2.3-16 as mentioned in this Speedhunters article of the build. |

..so no Evolution, just 1984+ 190E 2.3-16 [W201] (no idea why all imcdb ones are 1985+ this model was presented in 9/1983 and entered production in 1984 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W_201#September_1983 ) -- Last edit: 2022-12-16 19:33:21 |

Probably something has to do with the VINs? We still remember what Mercedes' VIN system works, right? |
