First reg# of 1934 DG8184.

Gloucestershire C C.

That looks like a Ford wheel, there is no sign of a longitudinal spring, so 1934 Ford V-8 estate car is possible.

How about this: - Link to "worldwideauctioneers.com"

Not entirely identical, but a good chance it’s a Ford V-8.

No response from anywhere, I wonder, sometimes, why I bother.

@jfs some of us don't know the older vehicles, myself included, and your comment will stay until someone with more knowledge comes along. Sorry this is not the answer you want to hear but in our defense (admins without knowledge) we would rather keep the listing as is until a more experienced administrator edits the entry.

Perhaps the admins could consider a sort of acknowledgement/holding response in these cases. Or, maybe, there is a need for an admin whose knowledge includes classic vehicles.

If you want to apply, the position is open :D

Personally, I tend to rename vehicles more quickly than some other admins. But I usually just check missed comments reported on the forum, I don't have much time to check comments directly on the site.
When someone like you know his stuff but is not sure, I think it is still better to use that name than keep it as unknown.
If it is not true in the end, we can always change it.
For that I rely on a well-known rule of the internet forums/communities: if a false info is published it will be quickly corrected by someone that knows it, but if you just ask for confirmation of something that is probably true, then you hear no-one.
