R8, sure. there was indeed a manufacture in Bulgaria but there was then the mark "bulgarrenault" on the rear hood. it does not seem to be the case here; the car has the Czech "cs" sticker... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgarrenault I have however a small doubt: wouldn't it be a Wartburg 353? The rear plates of the R8 were square and not rectangular... ![]() (this light car with a rear engine did not hold the road especially in winter (torque effect) -- Last edit: 2022-04-10 19:27:27 |

Renault 8 was exported from France to Czechoslovakia on 1963-1971, in numbers visible on the streets. For example, approximate 1400 pcs in 1968, 1500 pcs in 1969. 8619 pcs were registered on Dec 31th, 1971. |
