Plate is SJ 1321, Bute 1950. Archive clip - source unknown. Beach is just outside Brodick, on Arran with Goatfell behind.

Ep number apparently 2021.12, but the box isn't big enough ...

Edit: It appears 1950 would be Mk1. https://tractors.fandom.com/wiki/Oak_Tree_Appliances#Model_range

Book info says side-valve Ford E93A engine rated at 10hp but actually had 17hp. Announced 1949 with 12 prototypes sent to local farmers (Coventry area) for testing, production started 1950, cost at launch £246 10/-. 3-speed Ford gearbox with high and low ratios, so six forward speeds and two reverse. 4-wheel Monarch version launched at 1951 Smithfield show. OTA went bust in 1953 and Singer Motors bought the design rights, dropped the 3-wheeler and continued Monarch production until 1956, when Singer in turn went bust and were bought by Rootes, who abolished such unnecessary frivolities.

And tsb's link says
"Model range
O.T.A. MK l (cast front) Serial Numbers commence with 1000
O.T.A. MK II (sheet metal front) Serial Numbers commence with 1280
O.T.A. MK II (sheet metal front with 5000 series transmission) Serial Numbers commence with P5000
Monarch MK III (O.T.A. and Singer produced tractors) O.T.A. Monarch Serial Numbers commence with 10,000. Singer Monarch MT 1 to MT 276
Monarch MK IV (Singer produced tractors) Serial Numbers MT 277 to MT 290
".

Someone even wrote a book about them in 1993

... and it seems they didn't just stay in Britain

Some more info here - " ..production of the OTA and Monarch tractors was over a eight year period, survivors can be found from Finland in the north to New Zealand in the south".

E93A engine was 1172cc and was rated as a 10hp for taxation purposes. In the saloon car applications it produced about 30bhp but was obviously de rated for use in a tractor. Ford sold engines to be used in many non Ford products including Mercury station tractors, it would not be a massive leap of faith to suggest that the engine in that state of tune would be a good bet. By 1950, the 10hp car was the E493A.
