@mystery man. Question why is this not Mercedes-Benz but rather Mercedes-AMG? |

i think its how Mercedes names their AMG cars now, a little bit like the Viper was sold as SRT for 2013/14 But its better to wait for mystery man as my comment is more a theory than an absolute fact |

The only difference on exterieur is the AMG badge on the left, earlier ones had it on the right, since the name was from 2013 to 2015 MB G63 AMG ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-05-14 23:20:35 |

ok but did Mercedes gave a reason about why AMG would be part of the name ? ( i think dhill's question was more about that aspect .. ) -- Last edit: 2021-05-14 23:09:50 |

I don't know the exact reason, but with the reorganization of Maybach in late 2014 as Mercedes-Maybach, Daimler's sporty sub-brand was renamed - or rather became independent - as well in the similar way to MB and MM as Mercedes-AMG when introducing their second own development for the 2015 MY, the C190... With the expansion of EVs, there might be Mercedes-EQ as own brand in furure... |

I think that 2013-2016 Scion FR-S should be listed. |
