Silver Dawn.

Standard Steel Saloon, but I don’t see any way of dating it.

The bonnet looks correct so I don’t think it’s an insulted Bentley.

1949+ Series A to D.

1952+ has larger boot similar to R-type Bentley. Introduced in August of that year.

For the record, this is a small boot car

I had assumed a degree of knowledge which is obviously lacking.

Most small boot Silver Dawns were LHD, with manual gear change on the steering column. It was an export only model. The limited number in RHD come from original delivery in Australia, New Zealand, the Far East and an occasional taxfree car supplied. Only the 'big boot'version became available on the home market The majority of the later Silver Dawns are RHD
