They actually weren't that French: AKH Fahrzeugbau GmbH of Eutin, Germany, offered the AKH 190C from 1987 in cooperation with CARO International GmbH, Hamburg. An estimated 11 - 14 expensive units were produced between mid-1987 and mid-1989 (until AKH filed for bankruptcy) and we can assume that most of the actual bodywork was carried out by CARO (located approx. 7 km away from where the promotional picture was taken), who are still fit and well. ![[Image: akhcarombw201190c190cabriolet.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/3946/akhcarombw201190c190cabriolet.jpg) As there must have been a certain connection with France (or better: Francs .gif ":)") ) and the convertible was the new 1987 sensation (at least that's what the coachbuilders felt...), I assume this is indeed another one. |
