Parked behind pit wall at Rockingham Speedway, known at the time as North Carolina Motor Speedway ('The Rock' has served as a longtime nickname), located a few miles outside Rockingham, NC. The track has had a rough go of it since losing its NASCAR Cup Series date in 2004. It sat dormant for nearly four years before ARCA returned in 2008 and held events through 2011. The NASCAR Truck Series returned in 2012 and 2013. Then the owners ran into financial difficulties, which led the track to sit abandoned once again after being foreclosed on. The track had undergone a recent revitalization and had attracted the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (the #2 National Division, just below Cup) to hold events in 2025, as well as Easter weekend of this year. Now, it is once again facing an uncertain future because another round of owners is having financial difficulties. |
