So apparently this customizing style is called "slab" and appears to be a local phenomenon around Houston: Slab Culture "Slab car styles are greatly influenced by the Houston music culture and show real love the American-made cars (sometimes exaggerating their design features). One of such exaggerations can be clearly seen on the most iconic slab culture feature – the swangas (rims that look like classic Cadillac rims from 1983 and 1984 but with bigger "elbows")." Here is a screenshot of the car above seen in a later state: It meanwhile grew some unflattering horns and some even more unflattering "swangas" - so that's what they mean by those bigger "elbows". Hm... Always loads of junk in the trunk, as it's never closed?!? ![]() ![]() I still don't know what model year (Fleetwood?) Eldorado that originally was, but maybe that helps for further identification. In any case I sincerely wish them kustomizers a speedy recovery from whatever they suffered from when creating THIS! |

The amber running/turn lights are a 1976 feature, but they could have been added to a 1975 model. |

The "Swangas" are 30 spoke Starwire wheels that were originally built by Weld Wheels. There is currently a Lawsuit by Cragar/Truespoke of the wheels https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16E4aQKzGn/ Plus the "Slab Culture" borrows the style from the 1970s and 60s Pimpmobiles, including the "Superfly" vehicles. -- Last edit: 2025-05-30 23:41:18 |
