Exports for the [910] are all 1981 MY+ production ran from May 1980-May of 1984. I have done some pretty heavy digging. 1981 MY made prior to Janury of 1981 use a 12 digit serial number and models built after Janaury of 1981 use a 17 digit VIN

I've never heard of a 1981 model introduced in May of 1980 - and in fact I think this date is wrong. I have found Bluebirds registered as early as March 1980 - that is registered, not produced - and these have serial numbers like those found on subject car. I'm 99% sure the 910 was introduced as a 1980 here.

Pretty sure those with 12 digits are 1980 while those with 17 digits are 1981. I've never heard of a 1981 model introduced in May of 1980 - and in fact I think this date is wrong.
