I know there are people who will say how ugly the car is, but I like it. Just a few of them were built (5 or 7? such as one convertible proto) due to a wish of an American guy. The one here is the even rarer non-US-spec version.

Some people shouldn't be allowed angle grinders and welding gear, the bloke who built this is one of them.

I like SEC's, the AMG ones are magnificent, this isn't.

Interesting - I didn't know that Wille Karosseriebau was involved in the making of the SGS Styling Garage creations.

Daimler-Benz surprisingly didn't like the SGS conversions: "Daimler-Benz distanced themselves publicly from the SGS conversions. In addition to aesthetic concerns there were repeated reports of the lack of driving safety and technical usability of SGS designs. Among other things, warning lights for individual engine functions had been put out of operation, and SGS had waived the installation of the required high-speed tires. [...] Daimler-Benz therefore prohibited SGS from using the Mercedes-Benz star early on. SGS was then considered the manufacturer of the cars."

So in that case, I guess we have another make? Further reading
