Didn't spot legible badging before then or in ep 3.02 (but wasn't looking very hard). Which suddenly made me think that when GT (and probably TG) do these Big Trips, they almost always do a makeover halfway through, which becomes part of the comedy routine. But (long overdue lightbulb moment) I wonder if the real purpose of the makeover tradition is to enable them to disguise the substitution of a new car as and when they've broken the old one. Maybe they don't do it very often, but it's an escape route available or implemented when needed.
