That would have been quite a nice car of its type at that time. My mum had a 1983 Escort 1.6 Ghia Auto that she bought after my dad passed, she kept it for about six years. The major fault was the terrible Autolite carburettor, a piece of cheap and nasty tat compared against almost any other carb I can think of. |
