" .... the very car used in the ITV series 'Minder,' driven extensively by both Arthur (George Cole) and Terry (Dennis Waterman) from series' 4 to 6 and also featured in two Christmas specials 'Around The Corner' in 1984 and 'The Orient Express' in 1985. We are informed by the vendor that the registration number used in TV filming DYO 979V was actually a dummy plate and is not the real registration for the car, originally registered on 15/10/81 with its original Coventry registration number of VDU 342X."

There was a missing episode from Minder Series 6 Episode 8 called "A little bit of give and take" which was filmed entirely around an anti-drugs campaign by the Department for Health and Social Security and Central Office of Information. This episode wasn't included in the (UK only?) boxsets or shown on TV (as far as I know) it seemed like a short cobbled together episode, they used the early 80s motors such as the Yellow Jag for Arthur and a white Mk2 Capri for Terry. Both cars were not the original DYO 979V (VDU 342X) and SLE 71R.

The Capri, which was hard to get a pic of looked like a very low model with hub caps rather than the alloys Terry's Capri had.

Arthur's Yellow Jag was a Daimler but had no action/driving shots and Arthur was never seen near it, just a shot of it being unloaded by Terry:

You may notice the plate is DMK 520V, a Yellow 4.2 Daimler Sovereign that lasted until 1985 which is presumably when it was scrapped or stored away.
