Isn't the chassis code for the Vitara [LY] not [YE] ? Typically the code follows the first 3 digits of the VIN. Wikipedia also says it's LY. |

Suzuki's current chassis code "syntax" goes like this : two letters, two numerals, one letter. In this case, it's YE21S. But it's true that, for european ones, that code starts at the fifth VIN digit, instead of the fourth one. That's why the fourth and fifth digit tend to be considered as the chassis code.
