Looks like an ambulance painted black rather than a funeral coach. |

And it's probably an Ex-Military ambulance,all branches I believe had these? I know the Army did,as well as the Navy? (And one just like this had a role in history? US Navy issue.) |

That's exactly what it is! The Superior Coach Corp. of Lima, Ohio, built these for the military and they are easily recognized by the special roof cap made from steel. |
