An over-brightened copy of the cap shows [VR] / [VS] tail-lights, and what looks like an "Ecotec" badge under the side repeater light (Ecotec was introduced with [VS]). I get the impression that the repeater is square, so Series 1 (Series 2 repeater was a wider, oval shape) - but it's not clear enough to say with any certainty.
