I believe Seinfeld also drives a Saab 900 classic in at least one episode. But I can't remember which. |

This was Jerry Seinfeld's own Saab. So 1996. |

Mainimage is from episode 9.20 with quotes like "SAAB RULES!" and "If you are here and you are here who is watching the SAAB...SAAB-factory?" "It's in Sweden, Jerry" not this SAAB however all 900 (Gen.1 and 2) and 9-3 Gen.1 Cabrios are built in Finland. |

Unfortunately this episode ("The Puerto Rican Day") is not usually shown in repeats because of some flag burning business. |

Isn't the main image a different car from all of the thumbs? |

Even though it's supposed to be a 1996 model, in Season 6, it first appears in 6.04 which aired on Oct 13 1994![]() ![]() ![]() 6.06 ![]() ![]() ![]() 6.11 ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-01-16 19:11:09 |

This might be a dumb question, but what is the difference between the Saabs that have the taillights like Jerry's and the ones that go completely across the trunk? For example: /vehicle_143410-SAAB-900-Cabrio-1996.html |

That's simply a decor panel which became standard for the '96 up model years. |

Are they able to be removed or is it a permanent fixation? |

Interesting from the perspective of this car. The for sale ad calls it a '96 but in all of karoomay's thumbs it doesn't have the reflector and it is seen in episodes as early as 1994. Maybe more than one car used? Rims change for the Series 9 appearance and it has a '900S' badge there but a '900SE' badge in 7.22. The later car might be an altered 1996 (and the car in the for sale ad). EDIT: I think I've worked things out now. There's a 1994-95 900 SE used from 6.04 up to 8.10. The 1996 SE auctioned off is actually the car in karoomay's thumbs here for 8.15-8.20. There is then another (1997?) car used for Series 9: /vehicle_215-SAAB-900-Cabrio-1996.html but the 9.20 appearance (where it gets attacked) is a 1994-95 900S made to look like the Series 9 car with different wheels but given away as an older car by the lack of the reflector. Ah, well done sir. I knew there were several. @elliotswan with a screwdriver, yes. But it's either that or a body-coloured panel. |

The convertibles were finished by Saab-Valmet in Finland, but everything else was done at home in Trollhattan. -- Last edit: 2021-04-01 19:11:52 |
